Rock Star Guitar Cake

This cake was by far the easiest, yet the most challenging cake I have made! I think it was more challenging because I was on crutches and had to depend on others to bring me things, carry things for me, and support me as much as possible. But I love the end result! I made the guitar out of Styrofoam and covered it with fondant. I then molded all the buttons and details out of fondant. The cake itself is vanilla, and I frosted it with buttercream. Tea Party Baby Shower

This cake was commissioned for a baby shower with a British tea party theme. The sex of the baby was unknown, so I was asked to do neutral colors. The design was left entirely up to me. How Sweet It Is!

This weekend I had the pleasure of baking for my best friend’s engagement get together with friends. I am very close friends with her boyfriend as well, so I wanted to bring their relationship alive with the cake. They have done a 10 year long-distance relationship before sealing the deal with the ring. He was doing med-school in New York, while she was living in California. On her last trip to New York, they went to Niagara Falls where he asked her to marry him. From there, they decided to literally shorten the distance between NY and CA by driving cross country. So I decided to make a road map cake with important landmarks- Niagara Falls, Statue of Liberty, some Vegas dice (the numbers 2 and 4 represent 24 which is the day he proposed) and some surf boards and a palm tree to represent California.
